The Spanish Cherry (Mimusops elengi), also called Bakul or Bullet Wood, is a medium-sized, evergreen tree from tropical Asia, known for its dense crown, glossy dark green leaves, and intensely fragrant, star-shaped white flowers with brown-tipped petals, which give way to small, edible, olive-shaped fruits turning red-orange when ripe. This valuable ornamental tree produces sweet, edible fruit and has thick, fissured bark, with all parts used in traditional medicine for dental and other ailments. Ripe fruits eaten fresh, while unripe fruits and bark are used in pickles and lotions. Location : Assam, India
